Anyone using Spectrum TV Stream. The streaming only service for TV?

WGN America on Roku

I have a strange problem that started a few days ago. I am no longer able to get WGN America on my Roku or IOS devices.  I still get it on my cable box. I have tried all the usual remedies (rebooting Roku, cable modem, set top box, etc. ). When I have had channel problems with Roku in the past you usually lose blocks of channels or everything.  I have never had just one channel go out.

What I am wondering is if this is a Roku/Spectrum app problem or is there some kind of contract dispute going on between Spectrum and WGN?  As I said to have just one channel disappear seems weird.  I am a on a legacy TWC plan in SE Wisconsin.  Area code 53151.

Just wondering if if anyone has any insight into this or is also missing WGN.

Spectrum APP sucks!

We have been forced to use the spectrum app due to the decommissioning of the aanolog signal and man does this app suck!!!

This app is down at least 2-3 times a week.

This app is not a valid alternative and spectrum should of fixed all the bugs before offering it as an alternative.

RLC-1000 Error - Poor Tech Support Response

I was using the Spectrum app just fine on 2 Roku Streaming Sticks. This morning I had to turn off my cable modem and when I turned it back on I received a new IP address. Now I get error RLC-1000 whenever I try to log into the Spectrum app, basically because it thinks I'm not using an authorized cable modem. I've rebooted, uninstall/install the app, and even reset my Roku. All other network devices and Roku apps (Netflix, etc.) work just fine. I have a PRODOPS ticket open but they said they'll get back to me in 72 HOURS!!!

Why is this happening? All I did was power cycle the cable modem, not change ISPs. Has this happened to anyone else?

Cannot read TV cable guide because letters are too small

I am having a serious problem with my cable service. The letters on the Spectrum TV Guide, which shows on my television (Insignia model NS-19E720A12), are much too small for me to read. I am 61 years old and had a brain injury when I was born, which left the entire right side of my body very weak and my eyesight extremely bad; my eyes have just gotten worse as I age, and will just keep getting worse the rest of my life. I wear extremely strong glasses, but they still do not help me when I am trying to read the guide.

Insignia, the manufacturer of my television, is absolutely no help whatsoever. I have called Spectrum more times than I want to remember in regard to this problem, and am now at my wits' end. I do not read well because of my vision problem (which rules out using TV Guide magazine or any printed television guide), so I watch a lot of TV and need to know what is on at any time; I do not want to have to flip through every channel I receive on my cable in hit-or-miss fashion just to find the program I wish to watch. I have tried everything Spectrum suggested, such as zooming in on the picture, but my television's zoom function only increases the picture size in two steps, neither of which makes the guide anywhere near as large as I need it to be. The  many Spectrum representatives to whom I have spoken over the phone have told me there is nothing they can do about  this problem, which I think is ridiculous. There must be some way to either increase the size of the guide or else have a large-print TV listing I can put near my television so I don't have to put up with this problem, which is frustrating me beyond belief. One of Spectrum's representatives even had the nerve to tell me today, over the phone, that "there is no way" my problem can be resolved which, again, is ridiculous. This representative didn't even seem to know whether or not there are websites that have television listings; the only one the person was able to point me to was Spectrum.com, but I don't think there are any TV listings I can use on that site. Even if there were, I would have to look them up on my computer, which is very inconvenient for me since I do not walk well--even the short distance from my television to the computer. Walking to the TV to look at the guide more closely is not an option for me either, for the same reasons.

I am extremely sorry to have to say this, but I am extremely disgusted with this whole thing, and am very, very close to canceling my cable and going back to using a TV antenna. Doesn't anyone care anymore about persons with disabilities, such as myself? Spectrum must have subscribers in this country who are much older than I and who have much worse eyesight than mine; how on earth do they handle issues similar to mine?

   Thank you for reading this.

Spectrum TV cable guide problem

Why is the Spectrum cable TV guide so difficult to read? I have a 19" flat screen HDTV, which I was told by a member of this forum (in a response to one of my posts) is too small to show the guide clearly. It was also suggested by the same person that I get a much larger television, which is not an option for me because I live on a fixed income; moreover, my TV, which was purchased new almost seven years ago, still works perfectly well and I can see regular TV programming with no problems--it is only the guide I am having problems with at this time.

What is it about a 19" flat screen HDTV that makes the guide so difficult to read on that particular screen size? I would think the guide should be readable on any reasonably-sized TV screen. The only screens I can think of on which the guide would be difficult to read at a distance would be very small ones on the order of seven to ten (!) inches, such as are found on battery-powered portable HDTVs, tablets and smartphones. I cannot imagine why the guide would be too small to read at any appreciable distance on a 19-inch screen. My TV is ten feet away from my easy chair;  as I have mentioned, I have absolutely no difficulty whatsoever seeing normal TV programming on my 19" screen at that distance. Before DTV, after all, many people were watching 19" TVs with little or no problems, unless their eyesight was actually poor or downright bad. I personally have had no TV larger than 19 inches in my apartment since I've lived here; in fact, when I moved here 18 years ago, I bought a 19-inch RCA set on which I had absolutely no trouble seeing the picture. Then came DTV, I bought a flat screen TV of the same size, and the guide is too small to read. What on earth is the difference?

I have devised a workaround, however, for my problem. The Spectrum cable guide has a banner at the bottom of the screen which shows the title of the program highlighted on the guide, as well as the channel/network name and logo, in large letters. I find this to be an acceptable solution, which I will use until such time as my current HDTV fails or I can afford a larger one, whichever comes first.

  Thank you.

Restricted channels when streaming

Certain northern NH TV channels are not available including ESPN and our local regional sports channel, NESN when streaming with any device i.e. PC, Roku, android, etc.  yet available with the set top and by way of the analog hookup  (to be discontinued).

Why is Spectrum not giving us for what we are paying for?  Is this a market or "dollar"  issue?

Frequent not available or 'blank screen'

I've found in the recent weeks I get different error messages, oops something went wrong, etc.  Now I'm just getting a 'blank screen' specifically on the Canadian network during hockey games.  Last night it was on several local channels.  Seems like maybe channels are 'blocked' at certain popular times or popular shows---for example a few months back, the last episode of 'The Four'..... I didn't get to watch it.  Blank screen.

I've called, they have no idea why.... maybe we should all notate episodes of not being able to use channels and take it off of our bill.  I pay for the service---more than advertised after they add in their 'fees'......the service should work at all times.

Spectrum TV app won't open on Roku Streaming Stick or Streaming Stick+

The Spectrum TV app works fine on my TCL Roku TVs, and my phone, but it won't open on my new Roku Streaming Stick 3800 or my new Roku Streaming Stick+ 3810. After clicking on the Spectrum TV channel (app), it loads to the standard Spectrum logo blue screen for about 10 seconds, but then it just closes itself and takes me back to the purple Roku home screen every time. It never gets to the login screen or anything else...and there are no error messages. I've tried restarting Roku, unplugging Roku for minutes, factory reset Roku, and uninstall/reinstall Spectrum TV channel app multiple times. Every other channel app is working fine.

Roku software version 8.0.1 , build 4090. Spectrum TV version 4.8 ,build 2. I've already chatted with Roku support and Spectrum support but they couldn't fix it.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Cable guide issue solved

Greetings.

After I don't remember how many phone calls to Spectrum and messages on this forum in regard to a problem I was having with being unable to clearly see the Spectrum on-screen cable guide, I found a solution that finally solves the problem and ends my frustration in its tracks.

In response to one of my many posts regarding this problem, Satch (and possibly others on the forum) suggested to me that I should get a TV with a much larger screen than the one I had at the time (my TV at that time was a 19", 18.5-inch diagonal, Insignia flat-panel HDTV).

After much thought and consideration, I went online and ordered, from Best Buy, a 32-inch HDTV. The new set arrived about three days later, solving my problem once and for all, just as I had hoped! Now I can see the on-screen guide from my easy chair (my new TV, like the old one, is 10 feet from the chair) with no problems whatsoever. As well, my favorite programs look a lot better on the larger screen.

I wish I had bought a large-screen HDTV as my first flat screen, rather than waiting seven years (!) and putting up with a small TV (my first Insignia set) which is better suited for a bedroom, rather than a living room.

I have since noticed as well that 19" flat screens are no longer being manufactured, in favor of TVs with larger screens (30 inches and larger); I guess those smaller sets have fallen out of favor with the public and were not selling very well, while larger screen sizes do sell quite well and are comfortably viewable in all settings, from small rooms to bedrooms, porches and the like. I live in a 1-bedroom apartment and don't need a 50-inch (or larger(!)) TV, but my 32-incher fits my needs just fine as far as TV entertainment goes. Thanks to Satch's suggestions (not to mention my finally taking the bull by the horns and getting a bigger set), I am now enjoying TV more than I ever have in my life. Those extra 13 inches of screen size (from 19 inches to 32) made all the difference in the world. The larger screen is easier on my eyes as well; it couldn't have been that good for my eyes to be straining to see the cable guide, to say nothing of news and other regular TV programming, on a small 19-inch screen from ten feet away. I am almost 62 years old, have had poor eyesight my entire life due to a brain injury at birth (I wear very strong eyeglasses), and enjoy watching TV, so getting the larger screen set was one of the best things I ever did. As I said, I don't know why I waited so long.

Cartoon Network issue

This is a new one... Every time I try to tune in to Cartoon Network this evening, I see the same credits rolling every time I’ve tried for the last 2+ hours. Adult Swim should be on, but the credits from “We Bare Bears” plays and then it gets roughly 10 seconds into the “Teen Titans Go” theme before freezing up. This happens every time regardless of what the channel is actually airing. Same thing every time. What gives? Please advise.

I get this message randomly and frequently (every 5/10 minutes immediately after the app starts). When I click yes, the picture returns but the sound drops out and the tv (not roku) has to be turned off and back on. Any way to make this stop? Using a combination of a Visio HD TV and Roku 4K box.
